The Republic of Pemberley is a treasure trove where you can find many period illustrations and more than a few discussion groups. If there can be a criticism it is that at first blush the discussion forum software seems quite antiquated, but give it time, it will grow on you. And the insistence on real names is very charming.
The Jane Austen Centre’s forums include discussions general, regarding the novels and letters, characters, film and TV adaptations, biographies, the Austen family and the actors who have brought Austen’s characters to life.
The Regency Society of America operates a thriving forum not strictly Austen related, with a heavy emphasis on the life of the Regency including discussions on costumes, dancing, music and cooking.
